Hai nghĩa của lá này không hoà được với nhau. Bản thân lá là như vậy, không phải ai đọc sai.
Một bên là giàu, là sang, là đủ.
Bên kia là đau trong người, là bệnh, là buồn, là cái nhục âm ỉ.
Người trong lá đứng trên mái nhà, tay giữ một quả cầu, mắt nhìn ra biển. Có tất cả mà vẫn nhìn ra chỗ khác.
Hai Gậy ngược
Sự bất ngờ, sự sững người. Có gì vừa xảy ra mà chưa kịp xếp vào đâu.
Và sự sợ. Chiều này để điều đó lại sau cùng.

Waite Part II — xuôi: "Between the alternative readings there is no marriage possible; on the one hand, riches, fortune, magnificence; on the other, physical suffering, disease, chagrin, sadness, mortification. The design gives one suggestion; here is a lord overlooking his dominion and alternately contemplating a globe; it looks like the malady, the mortification, the sadness of Alexander amidst the grandeur of this world's wealth."
